ПОТЕНЦИЯ (лат. potentia - сила, скрытая возможность, способность): способность мужчины совершить половой акт; иногда также способность к зачатию. Слово "потенция" является широко употребительной ассимиляцией медицинского термина "potentia coeundi". Понятие потенции близко к понятию типа половой конституции.
